We need area guides galore!

Check out Ruth's excellent rundown on Moseley in Birmingham: http://www.myvillage.co.uk/brum/fe-fashion_moseley.htm

or Laura's top Derby bars: http://www.myvillage.co.uk/leeds/fe-bars_top-five-bars.htm

Think you can give us more of the same? Whether it's a central London postcode or a suburb of Leeds or a little bit on your favourite City Centre we want to hear about it.

Here are some guidelines to make your life easier:

-Check www.myvillage.com to make sure we cover your place (or look back to the New Areas stickies where upcoming sites are listed)

-Think about what you want to write - a general area guide? a shopping guide? best local bars? a pub crawl? a guide to the local music scene? arts scene? restaurants? where to spend a lazy sunday? where to rock out? where to date?

-Check with us that we haven't already got something similar on the site and once you've got the go ahead give us your best...

-up to 500 words, nice and listy - we like bullet points, headings, short, pithy sentences. Keep the tone light, this is a fun guide for young people in your area, not a tourist guide.

-Remeber to give contact details for any places that you mention at the end of an article or, as in Laura's article above, as part of a title.

-Post your article back to us on Finished Articles and wait for a link!

These guides are the backbone of MyVillage so if you can help please do and in exchange you'll be top of our list when gigs, previews and tickets come our way ;)

Hi
I had a look at your city guides and you've obviously covered Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland but what about Fife? I'm a Fifer born and bred and know of some great pubs and restaurants round about. Any chance I could do a general one on Fife covering areas like St Andrews?

Hiya,

I could write some bits about Preston? Similar to Laura's but maybe including restaurants and some other "attraction" of the city?

Hi Robyn, some Preston content would be fabulous!

A general guide ot where you hang out, the best places to eat, drink, shop, club, see bands...really anything that takes your fancy would be good.

Also, how about doing some general reviews or write ups on pubs, bars and clubs? Just 100 worders either from your point of view or giving us the low down on atmosphere, music, decor, clientele?

Tooting
Clapham
Clapham Junction

If any of these is any good!

Hi Nicki,

We may have plenty of content on Clapham and surrounding areas but that doesn't mean to say we don't want more! Would you like to give us the 500 word lowdown on these places as you see them? Where do you hang out, shop, drink, eat etc...?

And how would you like to provide some 100 word wonders on some of the areas best bars, clubs and restaurants? We're looking to fill up our venue guides at the moment so these would really be of use x

Hello,

There don't seem to be many Manchester reviewers out there, I'd be happy to write about arts & culture, music (especially electronica) in Manchester and restaurant reviews.

Could you give me an idea of what to send as a portfolio?

Many thanks

Hey Tom and bah! to portfolios, just get cracking with the writing ;)

We're crying out for 100 word each write ups of Manchester's best and most popular bars, clubs and restaurants, which I'm sure you could rustle up? If you're up for it we want to know what it looks like, feels like, sounds like, tastes like and who we're going to be running in to there.

Elsewhere keep an eye on the site for things going down in your area and if you've got big ideas for any Manc features let me know...x

How specific do you want to go? Derby is my local city, but I live closer to Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire - would you be looking for content for Burton too?

Hi Creative...we'd love some stuff on Burton too.

Could you give us a 500 word general area guide? Where to drink, shop, eat, chill etc...After all there's more to Burton than the Bass ;)

I'm sure I can whip something up... do you need it by a certain time, or just whenever?

Apologies for the extremely slow reply! That will be fine, I'll get them done asap.

Hi, I'd be up for writing about Chapel Allerton, which is a funky little suburb of Leeds, just outside the city centre. It's got bars, restaurants, shops, a park and cool little back streets........
