Hello! Hope everyone's having a good day?

I don't know about you, but it's really good to see so many writers and hear about all these ideas in one place. I hope to be able to share my writing experiences, good and bad, with you all, so I thought I'd start a topic...what's been your most memorable moment as a writer so far?

I'll tell you mine, as long as you tell me yours!

Karolyn xx

Hmm...thats an intersting question Karolyn. I have loads of memorable moments, both good and bad. The best ones would be when I first saw my name in print and also when I finally handed in my dissertation (which was a short story) and got my degree.

My worst moment would probably have to be when I was doing work experience at a magazine and got sent out in the pouring snow to get a coffee for someone from a cafe nero that was really far away (although there were lots of coffee shops much nearer to the office!!!!) for someone who made Miranda Priestly out of Devil wears Prada look like Minnie Mouse! lol

Hows about everyone else? And you of course Karolyn? What have been your most memorable moments writing wise?

Hello Karolyn,

Good topic luv! And good on you for starting one :)

Most memorable writing moment? I think every writer loves the first time they see their name beside their work. It gives you the belief that yes, you just might be able to do this! And to be honest, most writers live off that belief for a long time before they get anywhere, so anything to keep the flames fanning is a good thing.

Least memorable actual writing moment would probably be writing advertorials, I mean, it is ok and you do what you have to, but it depends how much a passion you have for that amazing new wood seal, if you see what I mean. Still, a good writer can fake anything – did I tell you how much I adore the latest Wood Seal from we-love-wood-seals.com ? :D

Hi Karolyn,

What about finding the word when you've been through every other word that even vaguely resembles it but their meanings just don't have the same umph! That description that brings a scene to live!

What's yours?

Hey...definitely interesting to hear what you lot have to say, I can definitely relate to getting work out there for the first time...I know writing is something really precious to me and when someone believes in it the way you do it's great. And, of course, receiving my degree!

Anyway, for me, it's getting results and reactions from my writing. I know that I'm doing my job properly and I can actually say I'm an effective writer. I've also been really lucky and got to interview some really interesting people that are personally, people I really admire. One was a lady called La La Brooks who was a member of the 60's girl group The Crystals, who were produced by Phil Spector, had a song in Goodfellas and worked with so many truly famous people you wouldn't believe, and Shaun Goater who played and scored LOADS of goals for my team Manchester City :D

The worst was when I was sent to do a massive feature on a market in Bury, and the batteries on the office camera died-it's such a rubbish camera that I now make sure I take mine along to jobs instead. And of course, did my dictophone. That was just through carelessness though, and unfortunately, I didn't do shorthand at university because I took the online route in third year, so I had to scribble EVERY word down from about 7 or 8 short interviews. It was definitely a learning experience!
