Hi all,
Can any of you do me a favour? I'm trying to find local listings magazines for the following places:
Birmingham
Bristol
Cardiff
Brighton
Newcastle
Belfast
Glasgow
Edinburgh
Manchester
Leeds
Liverpool
These would be the sort of magazines that tell us what's going on in the city, new bars that are opening, local restaurant news etc etc...
If you can give me a title, or even better a website that'd be great!
Thanks x |

Hi Laura,
Go Belfast is a glossy magazine that fits into your purse, printed monthly in Belfast.
It's free and can be picked up in pretty much every pub, restaurant and train station. Contains general features, recipes, horoscopes, interviews and a large section dedicated to 'What's On' and where to eat or drink depending on budgets or what you are looking for.
It's published by The Penton Group. Website is www.pentongroup.com.
Average net circulation is 24,763
Hope this helps.

Hi Laura
None of these are for towns you've given but they may be useful...
The Fly is a very useful listings mag for music, they had a good one for Cardiff while i was there.
If you want a specific website for music listings in the south try www.southscene.net, that is very good to although i know you didn't ask for the south.
For London (which i know you said you don't need) Live Listings magazine is very good for being comprehensive.
Hope this helps |

Birmingham - www.whatsoninbrum.co.uk
And on another note I'd be very happy to contribute some content to this section, if you have anything that you'd like doing? |

Hi Jessica,
Are you in Brum? Perhaps you'd like to do us some write ups on local bars/clubs?
If you're up for it what we'd need is around 100 words on a venue giving us the lowdown on how it looks, what we can drink there, who we'd run in to, what kind of music we'd hear etc... you can do this from experience or just by doing some serious google work, either way we need these asap.
And of course if you've got any ideas for Brum features please let me know! x |

| For Cardiff, Buzz magazine is the main one. I can't find a website for them I'm afraid. It's a monthly magazine which contains reviews and listings, all that kind of thing. |

Hi Laura,
I should be able to get some info about Belfast for you.
I was also wondering- i wrote an article that was posted on myvillage a few months ago. It was about cuddle parties.
I am currently studying a Journalism course and wanted to include the article in the portfolio.
However i need confirmation from you guys that it was actually published on the web. Do you think you could email me a confirmation?
Cheers Pamela |
